· Stop drinking. No level of alcohol during pregnancy has been proven safe so stay off the alcohol throughout your pregnancy and while nursing.

· Exercise. Always check with your health care practitioner to make sure you get the amount of exercise that is right for you (in some circumstances exercise is not advisable) but as a general rule exercise is beneficial. It has been shown that exercising while you are pregnant can help reduce the time you spend in labour, aid your recovery following the birth, reduce the need for cesarean, help you return to your pre-pregnancy weight quicker and improve your overall health.

· Swimming is an excellent source of exercise which can help ease your aches and pains.

· Another top pregnancy tip is to change your eating habits as soon as you find out you are pregnant. Eat foods that are high in fibre, eat plenty of vegetables and include foods rich in iron, calcium, protein and folate in your diet.

· Talk to your health care provider about what you should eat and how much weight you should gain. If your diet is unlikely to contain sufficient folate, iron and calcium your practitioner is likely to recommend that you take supplements.

· Eat foods that are high in fibre, eat plenty of vegetables and include foods rich in iron, calcium, protein and folate in your diet.

· Eat a balanced diet and eat regularly. Don't skip meals and don't try and diet during pregnancy. Remember you are eating for two so you need to add 300 - 500 (healthy) calories a day to your diet.

Nursing school is a whole other ball field now that men have entered into it full swing. As most of you know, it is not a pretty sight.

Many of the nursing instructors have been holding their own as women for quite sometime. I really don't think they had planned to see so many men in the field. So What! Right? Wrong. I realize that it is an uphill battle sometimes.

The mind and mentality of a nursing student with respect to their instructor is not much different than the humility that the student must show his Samurai Sensi, as he backs up to leave the room never turning his back out of respect for his teacher. Yeah, I know, corny, but hey you have to know how to roll with the punches. Sometimes that doesn't even work. However men, hang in there. You will make it, and be good nurses, no, great nurses you will be.

Up to this point, I hope that I have not shaken, not stirred those men who are contemplating going into the nursing field. From my own personal experience as a second year nurse with only fifteen weeks left to go, all I can say is that the male nursing students are intelligent, kind, patient and all around very pleasant to be with. Albeit there are not many men in our clinical but those who are do fantastic.

So, with that let's get down to business and get those scholarships for nursing school. Where to go? Well, there is an excellent scholarship for men going into the nursing field called, The American Assembly for. Men in Nursing.

That is not the only nursing school scholarship that you can or should apply for. Your sex has nothing to do with nursing school scholarships. The key is to apply, apply and apply. Get as many as you can. If any of you are veterans, then you must already know that you have some excellent scholarships available. Just like the nursing school scholarships for women who are the sole head of household and bread winners, so too can men apply for the same scholarships.

Balancing a family, job and nursing school is no easy feat. The more time that you devote to nursing school the better off you will be. It is very important that every start-up company owner or small business rising entrepreneur has a continued flow of concepts like: Idea, goals, discipline, enthusiasm and an acceptable amount of experience within the business.

For the sake of simplicity, I will explain those five elements above shortly and precisely. After reading everything I will outlined below, I will consider getting more information either from me or at leading sources like Amazon and other. Elements you need to have persistence:

1)Idea: Everything relating to business starts out with an idea. Ever through how Bill Gates became the richest man in the world? By stealing someone else idea? No, he started with his own idea and then he made his already entrepreneur magic purchasing the rights of a program, to then became the richest man alive. Average case? Of course not, however, it is a great example of what can similarly happen to someone with a wholesale business start-up idea.

2)Goals: If you already have the idea, you will have to immediately set yourself goals. I'm not talking about average goals; I am confirming you of long-term goals that are high enough to keep you hungry and busy through your development wholesale business career.

3)Discipline: Definitely a fact. If you do not have this quality, you are bound to waste your time in endless ways or perhaps, wake-up and find yourself an 85 years old average guy, still trying to make it. Little exaggerated, but you get the picture. Not just in a wholesale business opportunity, but also in life overall you have to have a persistent discipline for everything that you do. You master this quality for your own good, and you will increase the possibility of a success in any field.

4)Enthusiasm: What is the difference between getting to know a person who sounds and feel depressive versus a person that impacts you with a great direct enthusiasm by the way they handle themselves? Probability is, you will say "Astronomical". The way you handle your enthusiasm and passion for the success of your wholesale business, the more difficult it will become for a competitor to beat you overall.

5)Persistence: Once you have the above elements in your day to day business, persistence will most likely drive you to the top in everything you want to accomplish. Add this quality, and I can almost promise you, that it will be difficult in not achieving acceptable dreams.

I see too many people jumping into the first opportunity they see, simply because it promises great income. Money is definitely a major part of our reason for working, but is it the most important? You need to choose the option that will serve all of your needs, not just the financial ones.

How do you know which option is best for you? Consider the typical qualities of telecommuting jobs, home business opportunities and home businesses started from scratch:

Telecommuting Jobs

Pros - With jobs you will usually have less responsibility than a home business, plus a steady paycheck and a structured work schedule. If you are very efficient, organized and "production-oriented", this could be a good choice for you.

Cons - You will have less flexibility and freedom than you would with a home business. You will not be encouraged to "do it your way" -- you will instead need to follow your employer's instructions. Your workload is not guaranteed. Business can slow down and you'll have no work to do, which means no income. You will usually earn less from a telecommuting job than you would from a home business. If you are very creative and free-spirited, and you want to earn a big income, a job might not be right for you.

Home Business Opportunities

Pros - More flexibility and freedom than a job, more opportunity for larger income (if you're motivated), less chance for business to slow down (since you generate your own business), benefit from being part of a team of like-minded people that support you and help you to grow your business. No need to create your own products and marketing materials, as the company provides them for you.

Cons - Still less flexibility and freedom than starting your own business, as the company may have restrictions on how you run your business, how you can promote, etc. You may have sales quotas you need to meet, or other limitations. Choosing a company that has been around for a long time may result in oversaturation of the market, while choosing a newer company may result in instability or the company going out of business.

Your Own Company

Pros - Complete freedom and flexibility in the products you create or services you offer, as well as the ways in which you choose to market. No quotas to meet, build it big or keep it small. Set your own schedule and determine your own income. Be as creative as you wish.

Cons - Great responsibility. You are the President, CEO, General Manager, Sales Director, Marketing Manager, Production Manager, Comptroller, Personnel Director and everything else for your company. No one else is there to help or cheer you on, it's all up to you.

There are certainly exceptions to the qualities listed above. Perhaps you can find a great telecommuting job that allows you complete flexibility and creative work. Maybe some of the "cons" I listed above would actually be considered "pros" to you, or vice versa.

What it comes down to is what YOU want. What works best for you? Make a list of what's important to you. How much do you want to earn? How creative are you? How flexible do you want your schedule to be? What type of work makes you feel most happy?

Build a vision in your mind of the perfect work at home career for you. And then go about finding (or creating) just that!

To feel productive seems to be an inherent human need. We feel good about ourselves when we are contributing -- to our own independence, to our family, to our community.

Toiling away at our daily grind, we dream of running away to Hawaii or the South Pacific where we can lie on the beach and do absolutely nothing.

Some of us are lucky enough to take a vacation there and temporarily cut ourselves off from the world of responsibilities and demands and worries. We breathe easier, sleep deeper, eat more heartily. It is truly paradise.

It's wonderful because we have a life waiting to be reclaimed when we step off the plane. Our job is waiting for us and we go back to work with renewed energy and zest from our long overdue break.

It is like the first few days of unemployment, that honeymoon period when we find ourselves with extra time on our hands and no reason to get up early or fight the rush hour traffic. But honeymoons are not designed to last forever and it is only when they are over, that reality and the hard work of building a marriage starts.

The obvious stressors of unemployment are widely recognized: financial strains, the drudgery and frequent humiliation of job search, the family disruption, the loss of self-confidence and self-esteem. While none of these can be lightly dismissed, we are going to concentrate for a moment on an area that is often overlooked. It can cause inner turmoil, pain, significantly increase the emotional fallout of layoff, and exacerbate the depression, anxiety, and negative self-view that so often follow.

To feel productive seems to be an inherent human need. We feel good about ourselves when we are contributing -- to our own independence, to our family, to our community. Many of the great discoveries, inventions, and explorations of history were made by individuals born to family wealth who had no need to ever lift a finger to ensure adequate self-support. Yet these individuals wanted to contribute to the world in some way and left their homes, worked through the night, and even died trying to be part of some enterprise.

Those who sat back on their laurels, and never found any venture to engage them, lead empty lives, drifting through their days without personal value or commitment. Today we see their empty faces in the society pages and read the tabloids to hear about their drug problems and their tawdry efforts to find excitement and meaning.

Those of us - most of us - who have no choice but to work, dream of having enough money to have a choice. Few of us really want to drift around the world without goals or ambition. We simply want to do something meaningful to us rather than the career we fell into which has long since lost its charm and excitement.

It is when that career, boring and humdrum though it may be, is suddenly taken away, that we realize how much of ourselves is invested in the role we have worn for so long. Our belief in our own value is tied up and interdependent with our productivity. We feel a vital part of our marital partnership, someone our children respect and follow, an important person in our community who has earned the right to voice an opinion or vote for a principle. We bear ourselves with a certain pride in that we are bonafide members of the working class and clearly differentiate ourselves from those who fail to contribute: the welfare class, the criminals, the idle rich, the various parasites who dot the fringes of our society.

When we lose our job, the lines start to blur. Our sense of personal importance starts slowly to fracture. We see the reflection of ourselves in the eyes of our friends and family start to change. While we concentrate on finding other work and jumping through the multiple hoops required by any job search campaign, we also withdraw more and more into ourselves, seeking to escape the new image of ourselves emerging in the minds of those around us.

As a vocational counselor, I heard a repeated litany of concerns from spouses and family: "Since this happened, she's totally changed . . . He's not the man I knew . . . I don't know who she is anymore . . . he won't talk to me about what's bothering him . . . I want my husband back. I don't care if he's working or not . . ."

Have you, or someone you love, fallen into this trap?

Address the problem now, before a situation not of your choice and for which you bear no blame, mushrooms into the too frequent personal devastation of the unemployed - broken marriages, family dispersion, substance abuse, shattered lives.

The discomfort and emotional pain of losing your job also provides an opportunity to cement bonds and build strength if you take action to address problems head on. Above all, communication must not lapse. In fact, it needs to be expanded and enriched. Reach out to family and friends, those who love you as you are, "warts and all" as the saying goes.

Express your fears and your worries. Let them know how uncomfortable you are and how disappointed you feel that you cannot contribute to the family in the way you always managed in the past. Seek out ways to be a productive, even if non-working, member of the team. Take on new chores and responsibilities around the house and with the kids. Pay extra attention to your spouse. You may not be able to afford presents or a night on the town, but you can give of your time and your appreciation, gifts more valuable than anything you could buy at a store.

Share the rigors and discouragement of your job hunting efforts. Those who love you want to share in your failures as well as your successes. Encourage them to share their own feelings and fears about your plight, and express their anxieties about the future. Not only do we tend not to express our deepest fears, we also tend not to consciously formulate and define them. They just sit at the back of our minds as a faceless, nagging worry. When we fail to bring them out into the open, where they can be clearly defined and therefore contained, we live in a constant state of unease. To comfort ourselves, we look for something or someone to blame: "Everything was fine until she lost her job . . . if he hadn't got laid off, I'd be registering for college this year . . ." It is an easy slide from such vague thoughts to full-fledged blame and you become the scapegoat on which all problems can be hung.

If you are newly unemployed, take steps now to ensure that such a direction is avoided. If you have been out of work for a considerable period of time, and may have already seen this pattern develop, take the time to stop it in its tracks. Redirect your energies into developing a positive team spirit in which all can have a voice and a contribution. It can turn the destructive nature of unemployment into a lightning rod of family cohesion, strength, and deepened affection.

When you are in sales and you come across a customer, you don't want to think of that customer as someone you can only make one sale to, you want to think of them as someone you can make several sales to.

I must say that they were very good sales people, but unfortunately their focus was on getting that one sale to meet their individual goal, instead of focusing in on the complete package.

By the complete package I mean, getting all of the customers business. I'm not saying that you should get all of the customers business in one sitting, but at least ask some probing questions so that you may compare your products and pricing to their existing ones.

When you are dealing with a customer, you don't want to treat them as a statistic, rather, you want to treat them as a person, use their name frequently during your sales session. You don't want to make the sale, than hurry them out the door like cattle.

Always make your customer aware of ongoing promotions and new products that you have available, or, if you have upgraded a product that they currently have, you might ask if they would like to consider the upgrade.

When a customer walks into your office, or calls you on the telephone, greet them with a smile, be enthusiastic, and greet them by name. Make your customer feel welcome. This will keep them coming back. When a customer is in your office, in your surroundings, you want them to feel comfortable, so do your best to make them feel that way. Treat them as if they were a guest in your home.

When a sales person sells for keeps, they are selling to ensure that one day they will have all of their customer's business and not leave it to their competition.

When you first come in contact with a customer, don't hold anything back. Don't concentrate on making one sale to satisfy your goal. Think of the big picture. You want all of their business.

Smile, use their name, listen to them intently as they ask their questions and address any concerns that they may have. Ask questions about their life, their work, and their families. Get to know them and what their needs are.

Once you know their needs, you can than begin to sell them your products that fit their needs.

Always make your customers aware of all the products you have to offer, let them know your hours of operation, give them your cellular phone number, let them know what your availability is. Leave them by telling them that if they ever need anything else, to come in or call and to ask for you personally.

These small gestures alone will give your customer a comfort level with you, which in the long term will keep them coming back. In time you will manage to have all of their business, so the next time you sell something, sell for keeps
